Three scouts and a young leader from 30th Abingdon have been selected to be part of the Oxfordshire Jamboree Unit for the 2015 World Scout Jamboree in Japan. There are only 36 places for scouts from Oxfordshire so to be selected is a great achievement. The selection was based on a selection camp in late September 2013.
The hard part is that we now need to help them raise about £3,000 each. We’re asking parents and members of all sections to support the scouts in their fundraising. Having scouts going to the Jamboree is a huge benefit to the young people as feedback and presentations by the scouts will help beavers, cubs and scouts develop awareness of Scouting on a global scale.
